Sushi Go! is now available in stores and from good game retailers. Just as the name of the card game implies, Sushi Go! is about selecting sushi to eat! It is a short game suitable for children over 8 years of age. Sushi Go is simple and the game is usually over in about twenty minutes. The game is designed to appeal to families with children. It is also a good time filler when on holiday and it is pouring with rain outside.
The basic idea
According to Sushi Go Rules, the idea is the player is in a restaurant serving sushi and waitresses are serving trays of food for you to pick items of sushi from. The aim of the game is for the player to get the best sushi off the plate before the waitress moves on to the next player.
Components of the Game
The game comes in a tiny box, very portable and ideal for slipping into luggage when on vacation. In the box contains 108 playing cards and Sushi Go Rules pamphlet. The cards are all pictures of smiley faces and sushi on them, and they even talk and make jokes. The Sushi Go Rules are very simple and straightforward.
In Sushi Go; cards are drawn in three rounds, and on your turn you simply pick a card, which is then played at the same time as everyone else. Then the player passes the cards to the left until all the cards are gone. There are different types of Sushi to score points. Some have set points, some are majority scoring, some cards require sets, and some cards increase in value on a scale.

In Sushi Go there are also chopstick cards; these don’t score points but instead let you put them back on a later turn and pick two cards from one hand. It functions like a trump card used in other card games.
Depth
Despite being a simple game, there are still a lot of decisions for the player to make. Under Sushi Go Rules the player can choose if they want to get 3 sashimi cards, or more sushi rolls than other players, and so on.
Once a player has seen everyone’s hand he or she is now playing the players instead of the game which is in the spirit of the Sushi Go Rules book. Nevertheless, the turns before can be very frustrating.
Fun
Sushi Go Rules state the card game is light-hearted and quick to play, ideal for playing during small interludes to kill time. It’s something to play for all the family and ideal to pack when away on vacation or to toss into your purse when heading to a restaurant (you could be meta and play it at your favorite sushi place). The game is captivating and fun enough for players to be tempted to play several games in a row before becoming bored.
